Job summary

Kina Gbezhgomi Child and Family Services seeks an After Hours Worker/Screener for full-time, permanent work in Ontario. The role delivers after-hours coverage for protection services, responding to urgent protection needs and crises with reference to CYFSA and First Nation standards.

Strong communication and teamwork are essential. The successful candidate will hold an accredited college diploma in a related field, with preference for a BSW or related degree and at least two years of frontline

Qualifications

• Must possess an accredited college diploma in a related field of study.
• Preference will be given to those who possess a Bachelor of Social Work Honors Degree or a degree in a related field of study.
• At least two (2) years’ work experience in frontline social service delivery with children, youth and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide after-hours screening and weekend/holiday coverage for protection services.
• Respond to allegations of children/youth in need of protection and to issues related to children in care.
• Perform duties under the Child, Youth and Family Services Act and First Nation standards, with supervisor coordination.
• Schedule screening duties in conjunction with the Service Supervisor and process according to policy directives.
