Dilico Anishinabek Family Care seeks an Aftercare Worker to deliver educational and activity group sessions for clients who completed treatment, coordinating with Dilico Anishinabek Family Care and community resources.

The role emphasizes Indigenous considerations, aftercare services, and collaboration with the Addiction Services Manager to maintain a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

Position Overview:

Under the direction of the Addiction Services Manager, the Aftercare Worker will provide educational and activity group sessions, and referral and liaison services with community resources, for clients who have previously completed treatment either at Dilico’s Adult Residential Treatment Centre or elsewhere. Aftercare services will be provided consistent with the philosophy, approach, goals and learning environment established by Dilico Anishinabek Family Care.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• experience in the field of alcoholism and drug addiction as it relates to the Anishinabek;


• the provision of individual and group-based aftercare treatment services;


• experience working with Anishinabek people;


• experience facilitating treatment groups


• candidates without the specific education qualifications and where the position does not require certified qualification to practice, but who possess an appropriate combination of experience and other academic qualifications will also be considered.


• A minimum of an HBSW is required along with experience in the addictions and mental health field.
