Job summary

Dilico Anishinabek Family Care is seeking a Program Assistant to support the provision and development of health and wellness services in Thunder Bay, ON. This full-time role operates under the Program Manager and emphasizes alignment with the agency’s vision and core values.

The position requires leadership experience in healthcare, related degrees, and ability to travel as needed. The agency promotes Indigenous preference and diversity in the workforce.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Business Administration, Health or Nursing with 3+ years leadership in healthcare.
• Familiarity with regional health services and medical software systems.
• 3+ years designing and managing health programs and services.
• Knowledge of primary health care systems.
• Satisfactory Criminal Records Search.
• Ability to work flexible hours and travel as required.
• Class “G” Driver’s License with access to a personal vehicle.

Position Overview:

Under the general supervision of the Program Manager, the Program Assistant supports the provisioning of services for clients of the Dilico Health & Wellness Team. This includes, but is not limited to assistance with the overall management, supervision, direction and development of the Dilico Health & Wellness services in the alignment with the Agency’s Vision, Mission and Core Values.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• A diploma in Business Administration, Health or Nursing coupled with three (3) or more years' leadership experience in a healthcare setting. Completion of a university degree in Health, Nursing, Health Care Management, or related management field is preferred.
• Familiarity with regional health services in the Thunder Bay area and medical software systems considered an asset.
• Three (3) years or more of demonstrated ability to design, implement and manage health programs and services.
• Knowledge of primary health care systems and primary care models is a must.
• Candidates without the specific education qualifications, but who possess an appropriate combination of child welfare experience and other academic qualifications will also be considered.
• Satisfactory Criminal Records Search.
• Ability to work flexible hours and travel as determined by the Program Manager or Director of Health and Wellness in relation to service requirements.
• Must possess a Class “G” Driver’s License and have access to a personal vehicle.
