Job summary

Dilico Anishinabek Family Care in Thunder Bay, ON, is seeking a part-time Nutrition Cook to plan, prepare and provide nutritious meals for clients at the Adult Residential Treatment Centre. You will develop well-balanced menus, ensure food safety, and work with the Nutrition Team Leader to meet residents' dietary needs.

A valid Food Handler Safety certificate and two years' cooking experience are required; a Class G driver's license is also needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum one-day Food Handler Safety course certificate.
• Two years experience in food preparation, nutrition cooking or related field.
• Ability to work flexible hours and across service sites as scheduled.
• Must possess Class “G” Driver’s Licence.
• Must hold a valid Standard First Aid/CPR Certificate.
• Must complete a criminal records check and child welfare check on hire.
• Must complete medical and required immunizations as advised by health authorities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and provide nutritious meals for clients at the Adult Residential Treatment Centre.
• Ensure meals meet nutritional guidelines and food safety standards.
• Coordinate with the Nutrition Cook/Team Leader and Addiction Services Manager on menus and service delivery.

Position Overview

Under the direction of the Addiction Services Manager or designate, the Nutrition Cook will ensure that nutritious and well-balanced meals are planned, prepared and provided primarily for but not exclusively, the clients accessing the Adult Residential Treatment Centre.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum one-day Food Handlers Safety course Certificate. Prefer Chef’s papers.
• Two years (2) experience in food preparation, Nutrition Cooking and/or a nutritional service related field.
• ability to work flexible hours and work at all services sites as determined and scheduled by the Nutrition Cook/Team Leader and/or Addiction Services Manager;
• must possess a Class “G” Driver’s License and a personal, reliable vehicle;
• must hold a valid Standard First Aid/CPR Certificate;
• must complete a criminal records check and child welfare check upon hiring;
• must complete a medical and receive the required immunizations as recommended by the local medical officer of health.
