Job summary

Canada Rocket Company is seeking a Turbomachinery Designer – Draftsman to lead drafting for our turbopump hardware. You will own 3D models, 2D drawings, GD&T schemes, and stack‑ups, coordinating with design, analysis, manufacturing, and suppliers.

You will shape the drafting standards, drive GD&T practices in design reviews, and ensure the drawings are inspectable and ready for manufacturing and testing in a high‑performance aerospace environment.

Qualifications

  • Technical degree in mechanical design or equivalent practice (formal degree not required).
  • 9+ years releasing detailed drawings for precision hardware in aerospace or similar high‑performance industries.
  • Hands‑on experience manufacturing/testing turbopump hardware on shop floor and test stand.
  • Advanced CAD proficiency and fluency with large assemblies and drawing generation.
  • Strong ISO GPS/GD&T knowledge with datum strategy and inspection criteria.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain 3D CAD models and full assemblies for turbopump hardware (pumps, turbines, housings, shafts, seals, bearings, etc.).
  • Create and release end‑to‑end 2D drawings with GD&T, surface finishes, heat treatments, coatings, and inspection calls.
  • Define tolerance stack‑ups and interfaces to ensure reliability through cryogenic startup and thermal transients.
  • Identify cost/schedule risks and propose CAD changes to reduce lead time and cost.
  • Support PLM processes: part numbering, revisions, EBOM, and ECO documentation.
