Responsibilities

  • Review drawings and customer specifications; maintain traceability of components and tests.
  • Confirm calibration of equipment before use; report issues and deviations.
  • Follow contamination-control and high-pressure safety requirements.
  • Provide thorough shift handover on work in progress and issues.

Overview

We are an aerospace supplier specializing in the manufacturing and processing of high-precision components and assemblies. Process compliance, product traceability, contamination control, and conformance to customer requirements are essential to our work.

Position Details

Employment Type: Full-time

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Shift: Fixed evening shift

Working Hours: 4:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.

Hourly Pay Range: $20 per hour plus the applicable evening premium

Position Summary

The Aerospace Special Processes and Testing Technician is responsible for independently performing and documenting Level 200 precision cleaning and verification, cleanliness sampling and patch testing, passivation, vacuum oven drying, hydrostatic pressure testing, and controlled packaging of aerospace components.

This position requires technical experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow controlled processes and evaluate results against established acceptance criteria.

Duties
  • Perform Level 200 precision cleaning and cleanliness verification in accordance with approved procedures
  • Perform required cleanliness sampling and patch testing according to established sampling plans and work instructions
  • Examine membrane patches using a microscope and document particles and fiber results
  • Operate the vacuum drying oven, microscope, rotary flash evaporator, borescope, UV light, and 10X magnifier with white light
  • Operate the vacuum-seal packaging machine and ensure cleaned components are properly identified, sealed, and protected from contamination
  • Set up and operate the passivation machine while monitoring and recording required process parameters
  • Set up and safely operate the hydrostatic pressure test machine according to specified pressure and hold-time requirements
  • Review drawings, operation sheets, work instructions, customer specifications, sampling requirements, and acceptance criteria
  • Maintain traceability of components, serial numbers, work orders, equipment, samples, process parameters, and test results
  • Confirm that inspection and test equipment is within calibration before use
  • Identify and report equipment issues, process deviations, and nonconforming results
  • Follow contamination-control, foreign object debris prevention, chemical safety, and high-pressure safety requirements
  • Complete a clear shift handover covering work in progress and outstanding quality or equipment concerns
Requirements
  • College diploma in Chemical Engineering Technician, Chemical Engineering Technology, Chemical Laboratory Technology, or a related technical program
  • Minimum three years of relevant experience in aerospace manufacturing, precision cleaning, chemical processing, laboratory testing, or pressure testing
  • Experience with precision cleaning, sampling, patch testing, passivation, or hydrostatic pressure testing
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, work instructions, sampling plans, and acceptance criteria
  • Experience using inspection and testing equipment
  • Ability to prepare accurate technical records and reports
  • Understanding of calibration, traceability, contamination control, and controlled documentation
  • Knowledge of WHMIS, chemical handling, and high-pressure testing safety
  • Good manual dexterity and visual inspection capability, with corrective lenses where required
  • Intermediate computer and data-entry skills
  • Ability to consistently work the assigned shift
