Job summary

Canada Rocket Company is seeking a Manufacturing and Materials Specialist to drive material selection, qualification, and process control for flight-ready structures. You will align material systems with fabrication methods and work across design, production, and supply chain to enable reliable hardware.

The role spans material specs, process qualification, and failure investigations, with emphasis on producibility, traceability, and scalable manufacturing in a fast-paced hardware environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing engineering, materials engineering, or process engineering for metallic aerospace hardware or similarly demanding hardware environments.
• Strong understanding of metallic material systems and related processing history affecting performance, manufacturability, durability, and cost.
• Experience creating or managing manufacturing documentation, process flows, work instructions, build plans, or fabrication sequences.
• Strong understanding of interaction between materials and manufacturing methods and their effect on strength, fatigue, distortion, and inspectability.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with design engineering, production, operations, suppliers, and adjacent teams in a fast-paced hardware environment.
• Strong communication and technical judgment balancing performance, manufacturability, schedule, scalability, and cost.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute material and manufacturing engineering approach for structures including material selection, process development, fabrication planning, and build support.
• Develop and maintain material specifications, process specifications, qualification plans, and workflows.
• Characterize and evaluate material behaviour relevant to design and manufacturing.
• Define, develop, optimize, and control fabrication processes for vehicle structural elements.
• Develop manufacturing plans, traveler documents, work instructions, build sequences, and process flows for safe, repeatable fabrication of flight hardware.
• Collaborate with design teams to align metallic hardware concepts with process capability and production constraints.
• Support development and maturation of key manufacturing methods and supplier qualification.
