Job summary

RTX Collins Aerospace in Oakville, Ontario, is seeking a Machine Shop Technician – Grinder to perform precision grinding on large chrome and HVOF plated aircraft components during the weekend night shift. You will report to the Supervisor – Processing and ensure quality through blueprint interpretation and strict tolerances.

The role requires a high school diploma with 3–5 years of grinding/lathe/CNC experience, plus the ability to work in Canada and comply with ITAR/CCGP.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; 3–5 years grinding/lathe/CNC machining experience.
• Experience with machine shop practices, including lathe, Turning, and Grinding.
• Experience working to close tolerances and reading blueprints with precision measuring equipment.
• Eligible to work in Canada; must meet ITAR and CCGP requirements.

Responsibilities

• ID and OD grinding of large chrome and HVOF plated aircraft components.
• Participate in lean initiatives (5S, TPM, process improvement teams).
• Coordinate priorities and issues between operators and shifts.
• Observe and adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Move parts using cranes; operate other machines in the cell.
• Support continuous improvement and 5S within the cell.
• Multi-task and perform other duties as assigned.
