Job Description

We are seeking a Technical Writer to join our technical publications team based in Mirabel (Quebec, Canada). The role involves reviewing engineering documentation, performing impact analyses, reviewing revised tasks for approval, and incorporating changes for the A220 commercial aircraft program. Candidates should have experience in mechanical systems, a background in aerospace, and a desire to grow and develop new skills.

Responsibilities

• Research, plan, write and revise the aircraft maintenance publication (AMP) related to mechanical chapters.
• Perform quality assurance (QA) of the work units (Data Modules – DM) submitted for inclusion in the publications.
• Perform, validate and incorporate validation comments on the aircraft, in accordance with department standards/guidelines.
• Ensure that customer and operator requests and issues are analyzed and addressed.
• Coordinate and define the Data Module Requirements List (DMRL) of the publication with internal and external suppliers.
• Identify and implement process and product improvements in line with the strategic plan.

Requirements

• College diploma in aerospace or equivalent, combined with a minimum of 5 years of experience as a technical writer.
• Mechanical experience and technical knowledge in the aviation field.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills.
• Good understanding of change factors and aircraft configuration management within the AMP framework.
• Good computer skills and the ability to read and understand technical documentation, including technical drawings and related documentation.
• Good understanding of ATA 2200 and S1000D specifications.
• Knowledge of XML authoring language.
• Familiarity with Google Suite applications (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets and Google Slides) as well as SAP, and the ability to quickly learn and adopt any new tool or technology.
