Job summary

Nu Build Contracting Inc. is a full-service fiber, copper and network infrastructure contractor for major telecom and utility clients in Ontario. This in-person role is based in Northumberland County and requires physical field work, climbing poles, and safe operation of aerial devices.

The position emphasizes reliability, a valid DZ license, and experience with aerial telecom construction, with opportunities for a stable, long-term career in a union environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in aerial line construction.
• Must have a valid DZ driver's license with a clean abstract.
• Up to date Working at Heights training.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience working with aerial devices.
• Strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicle-mounted aerial devices equipment.
• Perform aerial telecom construction tasks as required.
• Place poles and anchors, lash cable, and transfer telecom plant to new poles.
• Climb poles with spur/ladder and work safely around the site.
• Complete daily job-specific paperwork and organize work operations to ensure safety.

Nu Build Contracting Inc. is a full turnkey fiber, copper and network infrastructure contractor for major communication and utility companies. Nu Build Contracting is engaged on projects across Ontario involving directional drilling, trenching, aerial work, fiber splicing, internal piping, MDU wiring, hydro vac excavation, cabling maintenance and construction and replacement of underground wiring. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate vehicle-mounted aerial devices equipment
• Perform aerial telecom construction
• Placement of poles and anchors
• Placement of strand
• Lashing Cable
• Transferring telecom plant from old pole to new pole
• Climbing of poles with spurs or ladder
• Completing construction as per design laid out on plans
• Placement of underground cable in duct
• Completion of daily job specific paper work
• Organization of work operations to ensure safety of yourself and people and pedestaling around work area

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in aerial line construction
• Min Valid DZ Driver’s License (with a clean abstract)
• Up to date Working at Heights training
• Minimum 2 years’ experience working with aerial devices
• Strong work ethic
