Job summary

Midwest Industrial Services in Manitoba is seeking an Aerial Lineman to operate bucket trucks, lashers and perform aerial hanging and lashing of telecom cable on projects across Brandon and surrounding areas.

Candidates must have a valid Canadian driver's license, pass a criminal record check, be able to lift 50 lbs, work in all weather, wear PPE, and communicate clearly with teams. LOA and housing available for remote candidates; overtime available.

  • Operating and maintaining bucket trucks, lashers, and other job specific tools and equipment
  • Aerial hanging and lashing of telecom cable
  • Climbing of poles with ladders
  • Completing construction as per design laid out on plans
  • Ensuring required materials are available and communicating with the office if materials are required
  • Placement of underground cable in duct and pedestals
  • Completion of daily job specific paper work and Job Hazard Assessments

Job description

Midwest Industrial Services provides hydrovacing, directional drilling, above and below ground fiber installation and related services to telecommunication utilities, pipelines, and other industries across Manitoba and Saskatchewan. At Midwest you will have the opportunity to gain a broad range of skills and will work with multiple enthusiastic teams and the local community to complete important and exciting infrastructure projects.

We are currently looking for an Aerial Lineman to join our team.

The right candidate will be a self-starter with strong organizational skills. Once trained, they will be expected to read design maps to plan work flow, confirm material availability, execute required labour, and maintain work logs on a daily basis.

Clear and professional communication is key to safety and is required on all of our job sites.
Job Summary

  • Completing construction as per design laid out on plans
  • Ensuring required materials are available and communicating with the office if materials are required

  • Completion of daily job specific paper work and Job Hazard Assessments
  • Wage: $22-32 per hour, depending on experience.
  • 10-hour day shifts, 4 days per week (Monday to Thursday), with occasional extensions to Fridays.
  • LOA and housing provided for candidates living more than 100km from site.
  • Overtime pay available.
