Job summary

Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS) seeks an Advisory Practice Specialist, Insurance, to shape insurance practice strategies, guide advisors, and improve client experiences. You will coordinate training needs and help raise service standards across the division.

You will collaborate with stakeholders to implement enhancements, manage surveys, and support policy compliance while contributing to the overall member experience. This Ottawa-based role offers hybrid work options.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or college diploma in business-related field with life insurance experience
  • LLQP and provincial life license (Ontario) required
  • CLU certification an asset
  • Bilingual English and French required
  • Experience in developing and evaluating financial services business plans

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement insurance practice strategies to improve client/advisor experience, growth and profitability
  • Coach and mentor advisors in insurance solutions

THE ROLE

As the Advisory Practice Specialist, Insurance, you will assist with the development and creation of insurance practice strategies, plans and communications to achieve desired client and advisor experience, growth, profitability and business objectives. You will also provide guidance, coaching and mentoring to advisors in the provision of financial advice and expertise in insurance solutions.

The Advisory Practice Specialist, Insurance will collaborate with stakeholders to develop training strategies and solutions and identify training needs. Additionally, you will provide support in the enhancement of processes and services standards, manage the administration of surveys to analyze and identify awareness, usage and satisfaction levels of services, as well as interest in new services.

QUALIFICATIONS

Language Requirement: Bilingual (English and French) Essential

  • Reading: Advanced
  • Writing: Advanced
  • Oral: Advanced

Education, Certifications and Licenses

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, or a related field AND some years of experience in Life Insurance Services

OR

College diploma or certificate in Business Administration, Commerce, Economics or a related field AND several years of experience in Life Insurance Services

Life License Qualification Program (LLQP) and provincial life insurance license (Ontario)

Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), an asset

Experience

In developing, implementing and evaluating financial services business plans and strategies

In developing an integrated financial services client experience

In the provision of life and disability insurance services

In analyzing client behaviours and consumer trends

In analyzing books of business and markets to determine trends and opportunities

In researching and applying compliance requirements

In relationship management and business development

In selling insurance products and services

In providing advice and guidance, mentoring and coaching

In planning, coordinating, managing and controlling the delivery of financial products and services

In conducting compliance, technical, and procedural reviews

In using customer relationship management (CRM) systems

In developing, evaluating and interpreting policies and procedures

OTHER INFORMATION

Start Date: As soon as possible

This position is based in Ottawa with flexibility to work from SISIP’s national office and partly from a home office in accordance with the CFMWS Flexible Work Options Policy, and with approval from the direct manager.

Salary plus Employee Performance Plan.
