Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years of industrial recruitment experience.
  • Strong emotional intelligence to influence decision-makers.
  • Proactive, adaptable self-starter in fast-paced environments.
  • Valid driver's license and passport for US travel.
  • Bilingual English and French is an asset.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Talent Acquisition Advisors are strategic partners who help build high-performing teams across Canada and the U.S. In this role, you'll own the end-to-end recruitment process with a strong focus on sourcing top talent, guiding hiring managers, and ensuring an exceptional candidate experience. You'll combine smart strategies with strong execution to deliver results. From crafting compelling job postings to driving interviews and process improvements, you'll bring expertise, energy, and accountability to every hire.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand position requirements, team dynamics, and timelines critical for successful recruitment
  • Create and optimize job postings to accurately reflect responsibilities and attract qualified candidates; manage postings and candidate progress using SuccessFactors
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies leveraging Indeed, LinkedIn Recruiter and other tools to attract top talent while supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, including early talent, veterans, and women in operations
  • Screen candidates to ensure alignment with role requirements; participate in interviews and provide guidance on best practices and candidate feedback
  • Advise hiring teams through the offer process, including compensation recommendations; coordinate pre-employment steps and ensure a smooth onboarding experience
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience recruiting for engineering, skilled trades, front line leaders in working in industrial settings
  • Strong emotional intelligence with the ability to influence decision-makers and deliver a world-class experience for both hiring managers and candidates
  • Proactive, adaptable self-starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and respond quickly to change
  • Valid driver's license
  • Valid passport with ability to travel to U.S. without restrictions
  • Bilingual English and French (written and spoken), an asset

Management Conductor Program:

Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
