Job summary

Foundation Health is seeking a licensed psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary Ontario network. You will perform comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnose a broad range of disorders, and develop individualized treatment plans, including pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy.

Collaboration with primary care and allied health teams is essential. You will provide ongoing follow-up, manage medications, and support referring physicians while leveraging EMR systems.

Qualifications

• MD degree from an accredited medical school.
• FRCPC in Psychiatry with independent CPSO licensure.
• CMPA membership and ability to practice in Ontario.
• Experience in outpatient psychiatry; established referral base preferred.
• Administrative, scheduling and billing support provided.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and risk evaluations.
• Diagnose and manage mood, anxiety, psychotic and trauma-related disorders.
• Develop individualized treatment plans including pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy.

Position Overview

Foundation Health is seeking a licensed Psychiatrist to join our growing specialist network. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients across a range of mental health conditions, working collaboratively with primary care providers and allied health teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including diagnostic evaluations and risk assessments
• Diagnose and manage a wide spectrum of mental health conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, and trauma-related conditions
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including pharmacotherapy and supportive psychotherapy within scope of practice
• Provide ongoing follow-up care and medication management
• Offer consultation and shared-care support to family physicians and other referring providers
• Collaborate with psychologists, psychotherapists, social workers, and other allied health professionals
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential medical documentation in compliance with CPSO standards and organizational policies
• Participate in quality improvement, clinical governance, and patient safety initiatives as required

Qualifications & Requirements

• MD degree from an accredited medical school
• Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) in Psychiatry
• Holding an independent licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
• CMPA membership
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and collaborative skills
• Experience in outpatient psychiatry preferred; subspecialty interests welcomed
• Established referral base through Foundation Health's primary care network
• Administrative, scheduling, and billing support provided
• EMR system in place
• Flexible scheduling options, including in-person and virtual care (where appropriate)
