Job summary

Foundation Health is seeking a licensed Psychiatrist to join our Ontario specialist network. You will provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnoses, and treatments across a range of conditions, collaborating with primary care providers and allied health teams.

You will develop individualized treatment plans, including pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy, with opportunities for subspecialty interests in areas like child/adolescent, geriatric, or liaison psychiatry.

Qualifications

• MD degree from an accredited medical school.
• Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) in Psychiatry.
• Holding an independent licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
• CMPA membership.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and collaborative skills.
• Experience in outpatient psychiatry preferred; subspecialty interests welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including diagnostic evaluations and risk assessments.
• Diagnose and manage a wide spectrum of mental health conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, and trauma-related conditions.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including pharmacotherapy and supportive psychotherapy within scope of practice.
• Provide ongoing follow-up care and medication management.
• Offer consultation and shared-care support to family physicians and other referring providers.
• Collaborate with psychologists, psychotherapists, social workers, and other allied health professionals.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential medical documentation in compliance with CPSO standards and organizational policies.
• Participate in quality improvement, clinical governance, and patient safety initiatives as required.
