Job summary

Fairmont Banff Springs seeks an energetic Adventure & Experiences Guide to deliver our Guiding program. You will lead wilderness, vehicle, and bike tours, sharing the Canadian Rockies’ history with guests and ensuring exceptional, safe experiences.

Responsibilities include coordinating guest communications, selling experiences, and maintaining strong Parks Canada relationships. A positive, professional attitude and relevant certifications are required, with community and seasonally enhanced

Qualifications

  • First Aid and CPR C certification required (min 16 hours).
  • Apprentice Interpretive Guide Certification from IGA or equivalent.
  • Four-Season Group Management Certification from IGA required.
  • Class 4 driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • At least one year in a high-volume recreational guiding role.

  • Share the history and culture of the Canadian Rockies with guests.
  • Contact guests before arrival to ensure smooth delivery of experiences.

Job Overview

We are looking for an energetic Adventure & Experiences Guide to assist in delivering our Adventure & Experiences Guiding program. The role requires excellent customer service skills and a willingness to learn. Starting pay is $25.50 per hour, increasing after six months and annually up to $29.30 at three years. The position is available immediately and will close in January 2027.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead and guide experiences, including guided wilderness, vehicle and bike tours, walks, and hikes.
  • Share the history and culture of the Canadian Rockies enthusiastically.
  • Contact guests before arrival to ensure smooth delivery of guided experiences.
  • Sell, book, and update guided experiences.
  • Provide a positive, safe, and memorable experience for each guest.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with Parks Canada and adhere to all regulations.
  • Set up activities and complete clean‑up duties, including cleaning and sanitizing spaces and objects before, during, and after programs.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 16‑hour Standard First Aid & CPR C level or higher.
  • Apprentice Interpretive Guide Certification from IGA or equivalent.
  • Four‑Season Group Management Certification from IGA required.
  • Class 4 driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • At least one year of recent experience in a high‑volume, fast‑paced recreational or guiding environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to solve problems and respond to changing conditions.
  • Positive, outgoing, professional attitude with a passion for National Parks and the Town of Banff.
  • Graduate or student of an Outdoor Recreation, Ecotourism, or Tourism program is an asset.
  • Physically fit and able to run activities in any weather, including walking, hiking, and biking.
  • Able to lift and carry 40+ lbs and stand for at least 8 hours a day.
