Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with team members and support functions.
  • Strong attention to safety, quality and accountability.

Job description

We are looking for a talented Advanced Warehouse Operator to join our Distribution business in (Edmonton, AB).

Will make an impact in the following ways:
  • Follow all Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and regulations
  • Safely receive, sort, label, store, pick, pack and ship incoming and outgoing products
  • Operate powered industrial vehicles and large forklifts to safely load and unload shipments
  • Maintain accurate records and perform quality checks for materials, shipments and invoices
  • Organize and maintain the warehouse and yard to optimize space and material flow
  • Coordinate trucking and shipments based on business requirements, including cross-border shipments
  • Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work area
  • Work effectively with peers, skilled trades and support teams to identify and resolve issues
  • Participate in training and continuous improvement activities
  • Maintain own tools and equipment as required duties, as required, to meet business goals. Works with peers, skilled trades and support staff to maintain and identify equipment in need of repair.
In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • Experience operating large forklifts and powered industrial vehicles
  • Ability to safely load and unload large shipments up to 50,000 lbs

Ability to use large forklifts to be able to load and offload large shipments safely (up to 50,000 lbs), knowledge of tariffs and cross boarder shipments, ability to schedule trucking based on requirements, ability to work in fast paced environment along with keeping yard organized and functional.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

Requires certification to operate powered industrial vehicles (reach trucks, order pickers, pallet rider, etc.) and/or other heavy machinery.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
