Job summary

New Flyer, North America’s heavy‑duty transit bus leader, seeks an Advanced Product Quality Planning Technician to oversee quality planning for bus builds and ensure defect prevention before line entry. You will track progress, collaborate with CPM, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and customers during preproduction, and align on quality specs with clients.

This role requires a Diploma in quality control or quality management and 5 years in manufacturing quality.

POSITION SUMMARY

TheAdvancedProduct Quality Planning Technicianwill oversee quality planning forall busbuilds, ensuring actions are taken to prevent defects before line entry. This includes tracking progress through an issues matrix and collaborating with CPM, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and customers during preproduction meetings. The role also ensures alignment on New Flyer Testing and Product Quality specifications with customers before line entry.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Oversee Advanced Quality Planning function for their plant

• Investigate and review all relevant information in preparation for upcoming builds ofhigh-riskcustomers/contracts

• Assist/conduct training to Production/QA on process/testing implementation changes

• Lead/support plant cross functional teams through the Manufacturing Readiness Assessment and develop the open issuesmatrix

• AttendPre-productionmeetings and present the New Flyer Quality system presentations to customers

• Work with various manufacturing groups to organize and implement recommendations or process/testing changesin order tocomply withcontractual requirements

• Assist/conduct training to Production/QA on process/testing implementation changes

• Develop initial in-process inspection plan for Live Bus

• Additionalresponsibilities as needed

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

• Diploma in quality control, or quality management

• 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with focus on quality,correctiveand preventative action

• Effective critical thinking, problem solving, communication, and organizational skills

• Knowledge of quality control, manufacturing, production and product knowledge and customer relations

• Strong presentation skills; ability to conduct meetings with customers and various levels of the Organization

• Experience with data analysis and root cause analysis

• Proficiencyin Oracle operations considered an asset\

• Ability to readblueprintsanddeterminedesign requirements form related specification

This position requires20% travel
