Honeywell Aerospace in Mississauga, ON is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer I to optimize production processes, drive continuous improvement and lead manufacturing initiatives.

You will design and implement new assembly methods, analyze defects with root-cause tools, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve cost, quality and throughput improvements while maintaining CGP security clearance readiness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Electro-mechanical, Electronic, Mechatronics or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in electronics or mechanical manufacturing.
  • CGP security clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing assembly processes to build customer products.
  • Lead Root Cause and Corrective Action analyses to eliminate defects and improve quality and yield.
  • Assist in resolving supplier technical issues related to deviations, design ambiguity and manufacturability.
  • Lead product return investigations and propose design/manufacturing improvements to prevent escapes.
  • Execute DOE and statistical methods to maximize resource utilization, throughput, and minimize costs.
  • Troubleshoot technical product/process issues affecting production.
  • Provide feedback to designers on manufacturability with supervision.

As an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer I here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to optimize production processes, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve operational excellence. With your expertise and leadership, you will contribute to the growth and success of our organization.

You will report directly to our Sr. Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our Mississauga, ON location onsite.

In this role, you will impact our manufacturing operations by optimizing production processes and driving continuous improvement initiatives. You will contribute to increased efficiency, reduced costs, and improved quality in our manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing assembly processes to build customer products.
  • As a technical focal point for the Cell, lead Root Cause and Corrective Action analyses, implement improvements to eliminate defects, improve product quality and yield.
  • Assist in resolving supplier technical issues arising from deviation requests, design ambiguities and manufacturability at Honeywell Aerospace facility.
  • Lead products return related investigations, implement preventive measures, propose product design and manufacturing process improvements to eliminate escapes.
  • Execute with support, capability of machines and process steps using Design of Experiments and statistical methods to ensure maximum utilization of critical resources, maximum throughput, minimum cost and capacity growth; involves integrating equipment, people, material flow, and information systems.
  • Solve technical product, process, component, and related problems that affect the efficient operation and/or manufacture of products.
  • Provide feedback to product designers on suitability of designs for manufacturability with supervision.
Qualifications
The Honeywell Aerospace building is a controlled goods program environment. Candidates must be eligible for CGP security clearance.
Must Have
  • Bachelor's degree in an Electrical, Mechanical, Electro-mechanical, Electronic, Mechatronics and Aerospace Engineering field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Electronics or Mechanical manufacturing industry.

  • Knowledge of industry and quality standards (e.g. IPC-610, J-STD-001, ISO9001).
  • Previous experience in Project Management - Ability to manage a single line engineering project with a limited number of participants.

  • Quality & Lean Principles- D/PFMEA; 8D/Corrective Action; Equipment Safety; Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Communication/Negotiation/Presentation skills.

  • Familiarity with automation and AI related tools.

The annual base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000 in Mississauga, Ontario. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
