Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, Aerospace, or related engineering.
  • Minimum 1 year manufacturing engineering experience in an aerospace or regulated environment.
  • Candidates must be eligible for CGP & Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Dip brazing process ownership; SME for aluminum brazing, fluxing and furnace operation.
  • Lead or support equipment installation, setup, commissioning, and validation of dip brazing furnaces.
  • Create and maintain process documentation: WIs, routings, flow diagrams, SOPs and PFMEA/Qs.
  • Provide daily engineering support to production issues and drive continuous improvement.
  • Support new product introductions with DFMEA/PFMEA input and pilot builds.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Production, Maintenance and Supply Chain to resolve cross-functional issues.

Job Description

As an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer I here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will support production operations, equipment commissioning, process development, and continuous improvement initiatives in brazing processes. The successful candidate will possess a technical understanding of brazing and related manufacturing processes, combined with a practical, hands-on approach to problem solving in a production environment.

You will report directly to our Advanced Manufacturing Engineer Manager and you’ll work out of our Cambridge, ON location.

This role will work closely with Operations, Quality, Design Engineering, and Maintenance teams to support process troubleshooting, drive productivity and quality improvements, develop manufacturing documentation, and ensure compliance with engineering and customer requirements. Responsibilities will also include supporting the introduction of new equipment and technologies, validating manufacturing processes, training production personnel, and leading efforts to improve safety, efficiency, and product quality.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, collaborative, and comfortable spending significant time on the manufacturing floor, working directly with operators and equipment to identify opportunities, resolve technical issues, and implement sustainable process improvements.

Key Responsibilities
Dip Brazing Process Ownership
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for aluminum dip brazing processes, including fluxing, furnace operation, and post-braze handling
  • Define, optimize, and maintain brazing parameters to ensure consistent quality, throughput, and metallurgical integrity
  • Troubleshoot brazing defects (e.g., voids, leaks, distortion, incomplete braze, oxidation)
Equipment Setup & Commissioning
  • Lead or support equipment installation, setup, commissioning, and validation of dip brazing furnaces and associated systems
  • Collaborate with equipment vendors, maintenance, and controls teams during startup and modifications
  • Specify tooling, fixturing, and auxiliary equipment to support stable brazing operations
  • Establish and maintain equipment parameter limits, alarm strategies, and preventive maintenance requirements
Process Documentation & Standards
  • Create and maintain process documentation, including:
    • Standard work instructions and routings
    • Process flow diagrams and standard operating procedures
    • Control plans and PFMEAs
  • Ensure documentation complies with AS9100, customer specifications, and internal change - control requirements
  • Train production and maintenance personnel on documented processes and standards
Manufacturing Support & Continuous Improvement
  • Provide daily engineering support to production-related issues
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, cost, safety, and efficiency
  • Support new product introductions (NPI) with DFMEA/PFMEA input, process development, and pilot builds
  • Partner with Quality, Production, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to resolve cross-functional issues
Qualifications

The Honeywell Aerospace building is a controlled goods program environment. Candidates must be eligible for CGP & Secret security clearance.

YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, Aerospace, or other applicable Engineering discipline
  • Minimum 1 year of Manufacturing Engineering experience in an aerospace or similarly regulated manufacturing environment
WE VALUE
  • Strong understanding of metallurgy and braze joint integrity
  • Familiarity with AS9100, NADCAP, and customer - specific aerospace requirements
  • Experience supporting capital equipment projects in regulated manufacturing environments
  • Background in Lean Manufacturing and structured root - cause problem solving
  • Application of advanced engineering techniques to optimize manufacturing processes

The annual base salary range for this position is $61,000 to $82,000 in Cambridge, ON. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
