Job summary

TRG in Ontario, Canada is seeking an Advanced Development Engineer to lead end-to-end development of innovative product concepts from ideation through handoff for commercialization. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in an automotive manufacturing environment, preferably in product development.
• Strong analytical creativity skills.
• Familiarity with IP documentation processes.
• Verbal and written communication.
• Proficiency in CAD.
• Simulation tools.
• Organizational and Problem-Solving.
• Experience with Embedded systems.
• Automotive standards and processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead Innovation: Identify and define new product opportunities and enhancements based on market/technological trends, customer, and legislative needs.
• Develop and Validate Concepts: Create, analyze, and test innovative concepts using engineering tools and prototypes.
• Lead internal teams and external partners to align development with business goals.
• Lead Incubator Session Process: Assemble and guide cross-functional discussions to generate new ideas and solutions, and follow up to implementation
• Manage Projects: Oversee advanced development projects from concept to handoff, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
• Engage Customers: Interface with customers to generate excitement, gather feedback and refine concepts to meet their needs.
• Support IP and Technology Strategy: Contribute to patent filings and stay current with emerging technologies.
• Transfer Knowledge: Deliver complete technical and marketing handoff packages to Product Engineering and Sales.
