Job summary

Nova Scotia Health Authority in Dartmouth General Hospital is seeking a Registered Cardiology Technologist Advanced in Electrocardiography to perform noninvasive cardiac diagnostics under physician supervision. The role includes mentoring learners and preparing patients for ambulatory monitoring.

The position is a long-term part-time assignment (80%), with hourly compensation and a strong benefits package. Prior registration and BLS are required, with WHMIS and safety knowledge valued.

Qualifications

• Cardiology Technology program or acceptable equivalent.
• Current registration and good standing with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists.
• Where there are no candidates meeting above qualifications, consideration may be given to those enrolled in Cardiology Technology programs.
• Current BLS(HCP) certification.
• Experience with ECG Department procedures, Holter monitors, and stress testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform noninvasive cardiac diagnostic tests: ECGs, signal-average ECGs, ambulatory monitoring, and stress testing under physician supervision.
• Prepare patients for ambulatory monitoring and support prolonged monitoring periods.
• Precept/mentor new learners in the department.
