Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie, Ontario, invites applications for an Anesthesia Assistant. This expanded role supports anesthesiologists in the block room, inductions in the OR, and sedation for procedures, under supervision.

Candidates must be a Registered Nurse with current Certificate of Competence or a Registered Respiratory Therapist with relevant credentials, BLS within one year, and completion of a postgraduate anesthesia assistant program. ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Secondary School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Registered Nurse with current Certificate of Competence essential or Registered Respiratory Therapist with current credentials.
• BLS Certificate within one year essential.
• ACLS- preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• Successful Anesthesia Assistant Graduate Certificate Program.

Responsabilités

• Provide technical and clinical assistance to the anesthesiologist in the OR and block room.
• Assist with inductions within the operating room and sedation for procedures.
• Assist with Acute Pain Service and sedation for endoscopic procedures and cataract surgeries.
