Job summary

Nova Scotia Health Authority in Halifax seeks an Anesthesia Assistant to provide clinical and technical support in pre-operative areas, ORs and PACUs. The role ensures resources for anesthesia are available around the clock and supports patient management under the direction of anesthesia professionals.

Required: RT credential, anesthesia assistant certification, BLS-C and ACLS; NS licensure eligibility. 75 bi-weekly hours; variety of day/night shifts. Benefits package available.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
• Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists or eligible for registration.
• Completion of an Anesthesia Assistant certification required.
• BLS-C (HCP) and ACLS is required.
• CSRT membership with CCAA designation considered an asset.
• French language skills are an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and technical support in pre-operative areas, operating rooms, PACU and other anesthesia spaces.
• Assist in ensuring all resources needed for anesthesia are ready for use 24/7.
• Participate in clinical patient management under supervision.
