Job summary

Interior Health Authority in Nelson, BC is hiring an Adult Day Service Worker | Bus Driver to support clients within a client-centred care model. You will assist with daily living activities and provide safe transportation to the day centre and community outings.

This permanent part-time (0.77 FTE) role offers a comprehensive benefits package, including paid training, vacation, insurance, extended health & dental coverage, and a municipal pension plan, with rotating day shifts.

Qualifications

• Outstanding interpersonal skills with excellent ability to communicate and connect with clients and team members.
• Experience supporting daily living activities and client-centred care is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and reliable transportation to and from the Adult Day Centre and outings.
• Set up and organize program spaces and equipment.

Do you have outstanding interpersonal skills with an excellent ability to communicate and connect with clients and team members? We are looking for an Adult Day Service Worker | Bus Driver to join our team at Broader Horizons Adult Day Services with Nelson Community Health Centre.

About The Role

In accordance with the organization's vision and values, the Adult Day Service Worker | Bus Driver supports clients within a client-centred care model. This role is responsible for assisting an assigned group of clients with daily programs and activities of daily living, while also providing safe and reliable transportation to and from the Adult Day Centre and organized community outings. The responsibilities include participating in and supporting activation, life skills, recreational, and social activities, adapting programs to meet individual client needs. The role involves setting up and organizing program spaces and equipment, accompanying clients to activities, and monitoring participation, reporting any concerns or changes to the Program Supervisor. Assistance with activities of daily living such as feeding, transfers, toileting, bathing, grooming, and dressing is provided as required.
