Job summary

Catholic Social Services in Red Deer is seeking a part-time Adult Day Program Staff/Community Disability Worker to support adults with developmental disabilities in community settings. The role focuses on daily living activities, personal care, and social engagement to foster independence and empowerment.

Applicants should have Grade 12 and preferably a Diploma/Degree in Disability Services or related field, plus First Aid/CPR and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Grade 12 education.
  • Diploma/Degree in Disability Services, Social Work or Human Services is an asset.
  • 1 year minimum experience with persons with developmental disabilities.
  • Valid Emergency First Aid/CPR.
  • Vulnerable Sector Check from local RCMP or city police.
  • Clear and Current Drivers Abstract.
  • Vehicle and class 5 license to transport clients.
  • Proof of Vehicle Insurance with $2 million liability.
  • Proof of Vehicle Registration.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality supports to adults with developmental disabilities in the community.
  • Assist with daily living activities and social events to support dignity and independence.
  • Perform personal care and implement programs tailored to individual needs.
  • Engage in recreation-focused community activities and mobility opportunities.

Job Description

Catholic Social Services is currently recruiting for a part time (24 hours/week), Adult Day Program Staff/Community Disability Worker in Red Deer.

You'll also roll up your sleeves and join in the fun during cooking classes, dancing, ball drumming, swimming, yoga, stretching exercises, community outings, and many other recreational activities.

Job Summary:

As a Adult Day Program Staff/Community Disability Worker, you will provide high quality supports to adults with developmental disabilities who live in the community.

Motivated, compassionate and organized, you enthusiastically assist with daily living activities and social events supporting dignity, independence and empowerment. You will be skilled in providing personal care, supporting persons with developmental disabilities,supporting mental health challengesand implementing programs tailored to individual needs. The successful candidate will be creative, energetic, and possess a calm personality to work with individuals with complex needs. You will be willing to engage in various community activities with a focus on recreation.

Please note, as our programs operate 24 hours per day, shift work is required and will include weekends.

What This Job Requires:
  • Minimum Grade 12 education. A Diploma/Degree in Disability Services, Social Work or Human Services (or equivalent) is considered an asset
  • Minimum1 yearexperience working with persons with developmental disabilities
  • Knowledge of community events considered an asset
  • Valid Emergency First Aid/CPR
  • Vulnerable Sector Check from local RCMP or city police detachment
  • Clear and Current Drivers Abstract
  • A vehicle and valid class 5 driver's license – requirement to transport clients in your personal vehicle
  • Proof of Vehicle Insurance showing $2 million liability coverage
  • Proof of Vehicle Registration for insured vehicle
