Job summary

Mino Obigiwasin Anicinape Child and Family Services is seeking a Clinical Practice Development and Support Agent. The role supports evaluating and improving clinical practices and developing tools for the Anicinape-Inakonigewin project, aiming to provide high-quality services aligned with Anicinape values and identities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a social science field.
• Minimum 5 years in psychosocial work, youth protection, or rehabilitation.
• Experience designing, preparing, and delivering training sessions.
• Familiarity with clinical tools used in youth protection and prevention programs.
• Strong knowledge of child/adolescent development and family psychosocial issues.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate mandatory and supplementary training programs for staff development.
• Update training as internal projects evolve.
• Design and facilitate training to improve clinical approaches to children and families.
• Support implementation of clinical practice changes aligned with Bill C-92.
• Identify and review tools relevant to best practices in care.
• Conduct research to identify resources and tools to meet clinical needs.
• Participate in committees and interdisciplinary workshops to advance practice.
• Perform other duties as required by the organization.

Job description

Mino Obigiwasin Anicinape Child and Family Services was established to provide child and family services to its population. This follows an agreement signed with CISSSAT for the management of youth protection for the four Anicinape communities: Kitcisakik, Lac Simon, Abitibiwinni (Pikogan), and Long Point (Winneway). Mino Obigiwasin's vision is to ensure that all Anicinape children and families have a stable, safe, happy living environment rooted in their culture.

JOB SOMMARY

In accordance with the mission, guidelines, values, and general policies of Mino Obigiwasin Anicinape Child and Family Services, the Clinical Practice Development and Support Agent, under the ADSP Coordinator, is responsible for evaluating, questioning, and improving clinical practices and programs, designing tools and procedures related to changes in clinical management in connection with the development of Anicinape-Inakonigewin (C-92 project) with the goal of providing quality services that reflect Anicinape values and preserve Anicinape identity, and that meet the needs of children and their parents while respecting their rights and responsibilities.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate in coordinating mandatory and complementary training programs to ensure Mino Obigiwasin's child and family services and aim for the continuous development of staff knowledge and skills;
• Collaborate in workforce development by updating training and adjusting required due to changes in internal projects.
• Design and facilitate training to improve the clinical approach to children and families in the four communities.
• Participate in the implementation of clinical practice changes as needed and in line with the evolution of Anicinape-Inakonigewin (Bill C-92).
• Identify, review, or design tools relevant to best practices.
• Conduct research activities necessary to identify the resources and/or tools required to meet clinical needs.
• Participate in several work committees and interdisciplinary workshops to advance practice and understand issues.
• Perform any other duties required by the position and the organization.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in psychoeducation, social work, or another social sciences program, or equivalent;
• At least 5 years of professional experience in the psychosocial field, youth protection, or rehabilitation;
• Familiarity with clinical tools used in youth protection and prevention programs;
• Professional experience in designing, preparing, and facilitating training sessions;
• Solid knowledge of child and adolescent development, as well as the main psychosocial issues encountered among children, adolescents, and families;
• Significant work experience with Anicinape families in the context of support, counseling, or intervention is an asset;
• Hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license;
• Being bilingual in French and English is a significant asset.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Permanent full-time position, 35 hours per week.
