Job Summary

The Faculty of Management offers world-class management education that prepares students to lead and address complex challenges. Reporting to the Associate Director, Recruitment & Admissions, the Admissions Coordinator supports admissions and enrolment processes for graduate programs. The position assesses applications, advises prospective and admitted students, maintains admissions records, and supports admissions decision‑making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate all aspects of the admissions cycle for the Master of Information (MI) and research programs (including Master of Science in Business (MScB), and other programs when required, serving as the primary contact for applicants throughout the application and enrolment process.
  • Assess applicant eligibility by reviewing academic credentials, transcripts, reference letters, test scores, and supporting documentation against program admission requirements.
  • Provide accurate advice and guidance to prospective and admitted students regarding admissions requirements, program information, funding opportunities, scholarships, registration, and onboarding.
  • Manage admissions data and confidential student records, maintaining applicant databases, processing admissions documentation, preparing correspondence, and ensuring data integrity.
  • Prepare admissions reports and statistics, monitor admissions trends, administer entrance scholarship assessments, and provide information to support program planning and decision‑making.
  • Provide administrative support to the Graduate Student Services department such as event logistics, committee meeting support, and information and communication related tasks.
Note

The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work from within Nova Scotia) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.

Required Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field, plus a minimum of two years’ experience in office administration (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating complex admissions, recruitment, or student service processes while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess academic credentials, interpret transcripts, calculate GPAs, and apply admission requirements accurately.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills with the ability to provide guidance to prospective and current students and collaborate with faculty and staff.
  • Proven organizational skills and attention to detail, with experience maintaining confidential records, databases, and complex administrative processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and experience working with databases, student information systems, or CRM platforms in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience working in a university or post-secondary environment, preferably within academic support, student success, advising, or teaching services.
