Job summary

AltaSteel in Edmonton is seeking an Administrator to support production teams in a fast-paced, industrial setting. You will manage production data, maintain records, coordinate meetings, and ensure data integrity across systems.

The role requires 1–3 years of admin experience, strong Excel and Office skills, and a collaborative, detail-oriented mindset. Regular hours Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM, with a $50,000–$55,000 CAD per year salary.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of administrative experience, preferably in industrial/manufacturing settings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and the full Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate tracking of production data and departmental statistics across Bar Mill and related operations.
  • Ensure data integrity across multiple data storage systems and reports (vacation hours, training databases, physical records).
  • Compile and present data for Health & Safety meetings; record and distribute minutes.
  • Schedule meetings, including Health & Safety Department Meetings and daily updates; maintain related docs.
  • Monitor training compliance; track sign-offs and assist training logistics.
  • Manage crew schedules and vacation tracking; support workforce planning.
  • Oversee records management for Bar Mill to ensure policy compliance.
  • Administer Microsoft Dynamics for service entries, invoices, and system queries.
  • Provide general administrative support to Bar Mill leadership; ensure office efficiency.
  • Maintain office supplies, printing services, and coffee provisions while controlling costs.

Are you a highly organized and detail-oriented professional with a passion for supporting dynamic industrial operations? AltaSteel is seeking an Administrator to join our team and play a key role in the smooth and efficient functioning of our steel manufacturing plant.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Your strong communication skills, technical proficiency, and ability to manage multiple priorities will be essential to your success.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate tracking of production data and departmental statistics across the Bar Mill and related operations.
  • Ensure data integrity across multiple data storage systems and reports (vacation hours reports, training databases, physical recordkeeping, etc.).
  • Compile and present data for Health & Safety meetings; record and distribute meeting minutes.
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings, including Health and Safety Department Meetings, daily update meetings, and maintain related documentation.
  • Monitor training compliance: track outstanding sign-offs, communicate with supervisors and employees, and support training logistics.
  • Manage crew schedules, track vacation time, and support workforce planning.
  • Oversee records management for the Bar Mill department, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Administer Microsoft Dynamics for service entries, invoice processing, and system queries—supporting both the Bar Mill and broader plant operations.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Bar Mill leadership team, ensuring the office runs efficiently.
  • Maintain office supplies, printing services, and coffee provisions while managing costs responsibly.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 1-3 years of administrative experience, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel and the full Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with SharePoint and Microsoft Dynamics is a strong asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a high-pressure setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proactive and team-oriented mindset.

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM (1-hour unpaid lunch)
