LOCATION: St. Albert, Alberta

Alberta-Pacific Forest Industries Inc. (Al-Pac) is seeking an Administrator, Logistics to work out of our office in St. Albert, Alberta. The successful candidate will be responsible for meeting customer needs while optimizing value and troubleshooting logistic issues. Engage and collaborate with vendors, customers, agents, associations, and internal Alberta-Pacific teams to ensure a consistent supply and quality of service and product. Support the Supply Chain Division in meeting or exceeding business goals.

Role Responsibilities

  1. Transportation & Distribution: Communicate and coordinate with internal coordinators, 3PLs, and supply chain vendors to ensure profitable and customer-centric transportation and distribution of orders. Conduct physical inventories, cycle counts, asset validations, and reconciliation procedures to ensure inventory accuracy.
  2. External Stakeholder Relations: Support vendor relationships to leverage Alberta-Pacific's value proposition and premium brand. Ensure vendor data accuracy. Implement contingency plans for unplanned disruptions to minimize adverse impacts.
  3. Documentation & Processes: Work in systems and processes to ensure uninterrupted, cost-effective delivery. Process shipments according to terms, insurance, and other requirements. Support coordinators by ensuring data accuracy and timely shipment entries.
  4. Negotiating & Contracting: Ensure data accuracy to optimize the supply chain, focusing on costs and reliability.
  5. Insights & Reporting: Ensure accurate processing of shipments to support data compilation for negotiations and KPI tracking.
  6. Innovation: Gather data on innovative approaches to optimize supply chain processes, reduce costs, and improve data flow. Develop a network of contacts to foster innovation.
  7. Internal Stakeholder Relations: Engage with internal teams to share knowledge, eliminate redundancies, and improve efficiencies. Support audit processes with accurate data. Ensure timely knowledge transfer within the team.

Role Requirements

  • 1-3 years' experience in transportation, logistics, sales coordination, customer service, or data entry.
  • Business Diploma in Transportation, Logistics, Inventory Management, or Supply Chain Management is an asset.
  • Experience with CRM or ERP systems.
  • Experience with internal and external audits is an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across all levels.

Other Skills & Qualities

  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Knowledge of supply chains, including carriers like railways, trucking, and shipping.
  • Emotional intelligence, integrity, problem-solving skills, resilience.
  • Effective communicator, persuasive speaker, and organizational agility.
  • Strong data analysis and insight skills.
