Administrator, Client Services (Insolvency Counsellor) - Doane Grant Thornton
Job Description / Duties

As an Administrator, Client Services [Insolvency Counsellor], your responsibilities will include:

  1. Administer first and second counselling sessions to clients as required by the BIA
  2. Assess clients’ budget plans and financial goals
  3. Deliver an excellent and empathetic experience for clients
  4. Complete counselling sessions by telephone, video, and in person when required
  5. Travel to other offices to meet with clients, if required
  6. Review applications and input data into our computer system
  7. Prepare, process, and collect required documentation as an Insolvency Counsellor
  8. Review monthly income and expense reports
  9. Communicate with clients, creditors, and other third parties
  10. Monitor the status and progress of debt relief options and filings
  11. Perform other duties as required
Qualifications / Required Skills

  • Registered or completed Practical Course on Insolvency Counselling from CAIRP
  • College diploma in Business Administration or a related field (preferred)
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to relate with clients and liaise with team members
  • High computer literacy, including the ability to learn new programs; previous experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Completion of the Estate Administrators course is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for in-person, phone, and virtual interactions
