Job summary

Purolator Inc. is seeking a Control Tower Administrative Support to ensure seamless handling of all Linehaul and asset movements. You will track shipments, coordinate with carriers, and manage incidents to maintain timely deliveries across our network.

Ideal candidates will have a college degree in transportation or logistics, 4–5+ years in logistics roles, and strong communication skills. This full-time, on-site role supports the national Control Tower team and Healthcare recovery initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Experience in transportation or logistics roles is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Book and adjust Linehaul movements in SAP TM & FMC.
  • Monitor customer directs and empty assets in the network.
  • Create and support incidents by case management.
  • Provide updates on high priority shipments.
  • Coordinate movements of internal/external assets.
  • Liaise with carriers to ensure on-time arrival.
  • Mediate and resolve disputes between local operations and outside carriers.
  • Follow procedures and directions from the manager.
  • Coordinate with Healthcare team, terminals, and third parties to initiate healthcare recovery.

Description

The Control Tower Administrative Support acts to ensure we are fulfilling all request and actions pertaining to Amazon, Customer Directs, CP rail ordering, carrier assets, and Healthcare recovery. The role is responsible for long- and short range planning, analyzing and resolving network issues, and assisting the overall network operations.

  • Bluerock tracking on All Linehaul trips
  • Trip Tracking
  • Rail Container Ordering
  • Amazon and Customer direct
  • Purolator and Vendor’s Empty Asset tracking and follow-up
  • H+ recovery
Communication
  • Pre-alert destinations of potential delays or disruption
  • Alert Amazon and Customer direct delays to terminal
  • Advise terminals and customer on empty trailer asset and removal.
Duties

  • Coordinate with the Healthcare team, terminals, and third parties to initiate healthcare recovery
Education
  • College degree in field such as transportation or logistics studies or relative equivalent experience is preferred
Experience
  • 5 years or more experience in a similar role in the transportation or logistics industry preferred
  • 4 years' experience with data preparation, diagnostics, trending, and written/ verbal communication preferred
  • 4 years' experience building strong working relationships with Operations team members at all levels across
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts
Qualifications
  • Exemplifies and consistently demonstrates our core competencies of communication, innovation, change management, relationship building and leadership
  • Familiarity with PCL and/or Linehaul-type operations an asset
  • Knowledge of Linehaul routes and heavy equipment as asset
  • Knowledge of aircraft/aviation an asset
  • Detailed oriented and strong organizational skills
  • Bilingualism - French/English an asset
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficient computer skills - Outlook, Word and Excel required
  • Knowledge of ECHO and ability to Triage issues within ECHO
  • Detailed oriented and strong organizational skills
  • Strong administrative and multi-tasking skills
Language Requirement:

Proficiency in English is required for this position due to the frequent communications that must be conducted in English with various stakeholders. This requirement is justified by the nature of the responsibilities and operational needs.
