A leading nonprofit organization is looking for a passionate Administrative & Program Assistant to support food literacy programming. This role involves managing their online presence through social media and the website, contributing to community engagement, and assisting with workshop logistics. This opportunity is ideal for youth with a passion for food, nutrition, and community engagement who are looking to gain meaningful experience supporting food literacy programming, and supporting LCRC’s online presence through social media, the organization's website, and other online platforms.
About the Grow Cook Learn Program:
Grow Cook Learn is a community-based food literacy initiative that offers hands-on cooking workshops, nutrition education, and gardening experiences. The program supports youth, individuals, and families in building skills and confidence around healthy food choices and preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
-Update the LCRC website with program content, information, and events, improving formatting and navigability.
-Manage and create engaging social media content to promote workshops and highlight participant experiences.
-Conduct research on food security, food literacy, and best practices to support program development.
-Assist with participant registration and workshop logistics.
Qualifications (Preferred):
-Familiarity with Wordpress website platform.
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-Experience with social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook) for promotional use.
-Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Must meet eligibility requirements under Canada Summer Jobs:
-Between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
-Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of employment, and have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment
-Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
