Job summary

Dalhousie University’s Student Accessibility Centre seeks an Administrative Coordinator to provide front-line and administrative support, helping students access accessibility services and accommodations. Reporting to the Associate Director, you will coordinate intake, manage records, and support operations with a focus on confidentiality.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with intercultural competence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide front-line service to students, faculty, and staff, responding to inquiries and determining the appropriate next step.
  • Coordinate student intake, referrals, and appointment scheduling to ensure timely access to accessibility services.
  • Maintain confidential student records and support effective information and records management practices.
  • Deliver administrative and operational support to the Student Accessibility Centre, including meeting coordination and correspondence preparation.
  • Support financial, payroll, data collection, and reporting processes while monitoring budgets and maintaining administrative systems.
  • Assist with the administration of Exam Accommodation Services, including coordinating external exam arrangements.

Salary $29.18-$36.95 per hour ($49,317 - $62,436 per annum, 32.5 hours per week)

Job Summary

Student Affairs is a collection of integrated units that collaborates with faculty, staff and students to enhance the student experience. We promote an inclusive, holistic and student-centric approach to learning and academic success and act as a professional resource in the delivery of student enrolment, wellness, development and academic support programs and services. Reporting to the Associate Director, Student Accessibility Centre, the Administrative Coordinator provides provides front-line and administrative support, helping students access accessibility services and accommodations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional front-line service to students, faculty, and staff, responding to inquiries and determining appropriate next step.
  • Coordinate student intake, referrals, and appointment scheduling to ensure timely access to accessibility services.
  • Maintain confidential student records and support effective information and records management practices.
  • Deliver administrative and operational support to the Student Accessibility Centre, including meeting coordination and correspondence preparation.
  • Support financial, payroll, data collection, and reporting processes while monitoring budgets and maintaining administrative systems.
  • Assist with the administration of Exam Accommodation Services, including coordinating external exam arrangements.
Note

Due to operational requirements, the successful applicant is required to work in-person on campus.

Required Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree, plus a approximately three to five years of related administrative experience (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Demonstrated experience with administrative functions, including financial processes, budget monitoring, and office communications.
  • Proven ability to provide exceptional client service in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
  • Experience coordinating and supporting administrative and operational processes, projects, and events.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities, exercise sound judgment, and maintain attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information while working collaboratively with diverse populations and demonstrating intercultural competence.
