Job summary

University Health Network is seeking an Administrative Assistant I, Medical in the Ophthalmology Program at Toronto Western Hospital. You will provide reception and clerical support, manage referrals, and maintain patient charts while coordinating appointments and calendar activities in a busy academic-clinical setting.

The role is part-time (22.5 hours/week), in-office, reporting to a physician. Prior health care experience and knowledge of medical terminology are preferred; a post-secondary

Qualifications

  • Completion of Grade XII
  • Completion of a recognized post-secondary office administration program at the certificate level or equivalent preferred
  • Two (2) year related clerical experience required
  • Experience working in a health care environment
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of Emergency Assistance Codes
  • Excellent organizational, time management and prioritization skills
  • Very good interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Good data entry/keyboard skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Ability to produce high quality work in accordance with Hospital standards
  • Ability to work effectively and safely when dealing with stressful situations

Position Summary

TheAdministrativeAssistant I, Medical is responsible forprovidingadministrativeand receptionsupport within the OphthalmologyProgram at the University Health Network. This role involves managing a broad range of administrative responsibilities in a dynamic academic and clinical environment. The ideal candidate will be resourceful, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities while providing strong support to physicians and learners.

Duties
  • Performing reception responsibilities
