Job summary

Jarlette Health Services is seeking an Environmental Services Manager for Roberta Place Retirement Lodge in Barrie, ON. You will oversee housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and well-maintained equipment and linens for residents and staff.

You will lead hands-on operations, manage waste, and supervise contracts and contractors, while promoting professional development and coordinating with leadership.

Qualifications

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma is preferred.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices and prevailing practices relating to housekeeping, laundry and maintenance as applicable.
  • 5 years of maintenance related work experience preferred.
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to develop conceptual alternatives.
  • Able to interpret and implement applicable laws and regulations.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be familiar with cleaning products.
  • Strong customer service orientation and skills.
  • Basic mathematical skills required.
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
  • Ability to follow through and complete overlapping projects.
  • High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability.
  • High level of sound and independent judgment, reasoning, and discretion.
  • Working knowledge of the Health and Safety Act.

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the General Manager, the Environmental Services Manager is responsible for the provision of effective Housekeeping, Laundry and Maintenance Services for the Home, residents and staff.
  • Ensures the Home, its equipment and linens are in a state of good repair and cleanliness.
  • Ensures a safe environment for residents, visitors and staff.
  • The Environmental Services Manager also performs essential hands-on general maintenance and housekeeping duties necessary for the Home's operation, oversees waste management, and coordinates the procurement and supervision of contracts and contractors working on behalf of the Home.
  • Additionally, the Environmental Services Manager maintains the grounds, facilitates leadership development among team members, and pursues continuous professional development.

Join our team as an Environmental Services Manager!
