Job description

Administrative Assistant and Event Coordinator

Full-time position in the Department of Research at UHN, Canada's top hospital and a leading research institution. The role involves providing administrative support and coordinating events for the Banting & Best Diabetes Centre, affiliated with the University of Toronto.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support committee activities, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and transcribing minutes.
  • Coordinate funding programs, including application processes and review procedures.
  • Assist with website updates, email communications, and content management.
  • Organize and oversee scientific and educational events, including logistics and guest arrangements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or college diploma in relevant fields.
  • 4+ years of experience in administration and event planning.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MailChimp, WordPress, Zoom, and YouTube.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

This position offers a hybrid work model, with initial on-site training and flexible scheduling thereafter. It is a temporary full-time role for approximately 18 months to cover parental leave.
