The incumbent interacts directly with patients and their families as well as hospital departments.**Qualifications** • Post-secondary diploma/certificate in medical office administration or equivalent combination of education and experience • Medical terminology certificate • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a health care environment • Previous experience in a rapid assessment clinic is an asset • Demonstrated commitment to the values of Service, Responsible Stewardship, Community Responsiveness, Respect, Teamwork and Collaboration • Previous experience with EPIC (Dovetale), Outlook and Web access • Intermediate level in MS Word, MS Excel, Spelling • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully, both in person and by telephone • Maintain excellent interpersonal relationships while handling multiple tasks, frequent interruptions and stressful situations • Essential to demonstrate compassion and understanding with patients and their families in all interactions • Strong organization skills, with ability to set own priorities and work with minimal supervision • Excellence in grammar, spelling, and punctuation, together with report writing skills**Responsibilities** • Registers patients, verifies health care and other patient demographics, and enters all pertinent information into the hospital patient processing information systems: EPIC (Dovetale), Office 365 Microsoft, Teams • Assembles patient charts for each day, ensuring all pertinent patient information is included with the ability to process same day and time sensitive patient bookings • Provides reception duties as required by handling all incoming phone calls and enquiries to C-IMRAC and PAAU in an efficient and courteous manner • Handles the documentation and flow of physician/nursing orders, laboratory reports, bloodwork, diagnostic test results, appointment sheets • Maintains unit statistics and produces various reports, patient profiles • Provides administrative support in typing routine correspondence sorts/distributes mail, faxes and emails, books conference rooms and coordinates meetings • Schedules and maintains clinics for medical learners, organizes and updates patient charts, collects patient demographics and monitors clinic bookings • Assists with other unit activities as assigned by Manager
