Job summary

Safran in Mirabel, QC is seeking a skilled technician to grind attachment points on main landing gear components using air-powered tools and semi-automatic equipment. Precision and adherence to drawings are essential, with calipers and micrometers required.

You will inspect parts, machine with a lathe, apply sealant, and document QA steps while supporting continuous improvement in safety, quality, costs and deliveries. Night shifts and a strong benefits package accompany the role.

Qualifications

• DEP in aeronautical structure assembly or DES (equivalence certificate not accepted) with relevant experience.
• Experience with manual work using pneumatic tools in a manufacturing setting.
• Reading mechanical drawings and using measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers).

Responsibilities

The Mirabel plant is dedicated to the manufacturing of major components for landing gear for the Airbus A320, A330, and A350 models, as well as the Boeing 787. It features state-of-the-art equipment for machining, polishing, and special processes, including heat treatment, shot peening, and surface treatments.

You will perform, using air-powered hand tools or semi-automatic equipment, the grinding of attachment points of the main landing gear components according to specifications. This operation requires a high level of precision to create the exact dimensions of the rings that will be installed to accommodate other mechanical parts.

• Note: Depending on the collective agreement rules, the position may change shifts (day, evening, or weekend)

• The salary for this position starts between $29.52 and $39.73 per hour, depending on your skills, experience, and qualifications. With internal training and your progression in acquiring job-related skills, the hourly wage will increase up to a maximum of $45.12.
