Halton Healthcare in Milton seeks an experienced registered nurse to join the MD Med/Surg IP team. The role provides safe, evidence-informed nursing care to acute medical and surgical patients, leveraging strong communication and clinical knowledge.

You will work in a dynamic unit with a Clinical Resource Nurse and Patient Care Manager, with rotating 12-hour shifts (0730-1930 and 1930-0730). A current CNO registration and BLS are required, plus recent Med/Surg experience.

Qualifications

• Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Current Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire.
• Recent medical/surgical experience in an acute care setting.
• Telemetry experience required; Coronary Care I is required within 6 months of hire.
• Critical care experience is preferred.
• Ability to prioritize and work efficiently in a rapidly changing environment.
• Organized and able to work in a team environment.
• Previous experience working with Meditech and McKesson Visibility is an asset.
• Caring, compassionate, customer focused attitude towards patients and families.
• Able to physically meet the demands of the role.
• Satisfactory employment and attendance record required.

Responsabilités

• Provide safe, evidence-informed nursing care to acute medical and surgical patients.
• Assess, intervene and evaluate patient status with appropriate nursing actions.
• Manage IVs, medications, blood products, analgesia, TPN and CVAD care.
• Care for pre-operative and post-operative patients.
• Interpret laboratory values and respond with appropriate nursing interventions.
• Prioritize and organize care in a dynamic environment.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered care.
• Commit to ongoing education and professional development.
