Job summary

Slmhc in Ontario seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to coordinate, assess, plan, provide interventions and evaluate care for assigned patients in accordance with the RN College of Nurses of Ontario standards and hospital goals.

The role requires 12-hour shift rotation, flexibility, and strong collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to deliver culturally competent, safe care in a demanding environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Current BCLS CPR certification required.
• Minimum one year nursing experience preferred.
• ACLS/PALS/NALS course or status preferred.
• EKG/dysrhythmia interpretation course/skill an asset.
• Excellent communication skills, non-judgmental manner, team player.
• Strong assessment skills.
• IV/venipuncture skills/certification.
• Problem solving skills and crisis intervention abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to and relief for all areas as required.
• Maintain flexible work hours.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams.
• Must be willing to work the present 12 hour shift rotation.
• Regular and sustained attendance is essential for this position.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations.
• Ability to maintain concentration with frequent interruptions.
• Ability to function in a demanding and stressful environment with unpredictable situations.
• Ability to cope with hazardous situations: exposure to chemicals, infectious disease, and treatment of confused/irrational/agitated/uncooperative patients.
• Ability to self-reflect on practice and make adjustments based on feedback.
• Provide culturally competent and respectful care in accordance with hospital policy.
• Other nursing duties.
• Must adhere to infection control measures and PPE training.
