Job summary

Alberta Health Services’ Peter Lougheed Centre in Calgary is seeking a Medicine Portfolio Quality Lead to advance patient safety, quality and experience by applying quality improvement methods within acute care.

You will lead QA projects, collaborate with managers, and influence cross‑functional teams; requires QI certification (AIW/Lean Green Belt), 3+ years in acute care, strong facilitation and data analysis skills; reporting to Medicine Portfolio Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in health care discipline, business, administration, or leadership with good standing.
• Quality/process improvement certification equivalent to AIW or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in acute health care.
• Minimum of 3 years experience applying quality/process improvement methodologies and project management.
• Demonstrated leadership and group facilitation skills; strong communication.
• Ability to negotiate and influence across broad stakeholder groups.
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
• Advanced computer software knowledge (databases, spreadsheets, flow charts, data analysis).
• Clear pattern of personal and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Collaboratively improve patient and staff safety, quality and experience outcomes.
• Understand performance metrics and identify improvement opportunities.
• Lead quality projects and initiatives to achieve portfolio goals.
• Serve as subject matter expert in QI, change management and program evaluation.
• Collaborate with portfolio managers to gather input and build partnerships.
