Job summary

Jobtailor in Canada is seeking an actuarial pricing specialist to contribute to the development, analysis and updating of rates for Atlantic market; you will analyze portfolios’ profitability, claims experience and risk segmentation to support sound pricing decisions.

You will adapt pricing models to regional and regulatory realities, participate in rate reviews and regulatory filings, collaborate with underwriting, product and data teams, and act as a pricing reference across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics or related field.
  • Actively pursuing ASA/ACIA or fully credentialed.
  • 3–7 years pricing experience in property & casualty insurance.
  • Strong understanding of pricing principles and profitability.
  • Advanced Excel required.
  • Experience with R, SQL or Python is a plus.
  • Bilingual in French and English.

Responsibilities

Job description

  • Contribute to the development, analysis and updating of rates for product lines serving the Atlantic market
  • Analyze the technical and financial performance of portfolios, including profitability, claims experience and risk segmentation
  • Adapt pricing models and parameters to regional, regulatory and competitive realities
  • Participate in rate reviews, regulatory filings and post-implementation monitoring
  • Collaborate with underwriting, product teams and data & analytics teams
  • Document and communicate results to support decision-making
  • Participate in continuous improvement, modernization or automation projects for actuarial practices
  • Serve as a technical reference and business partner for the teams involved
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline
  • Actively progressing toward ASA/ACIA (or equivalent), or fully credentialed
  • 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in pricing within property and casualty insurance
  • Strong understanding of pricing principles, claims experience, profitability and competitiveness
  • Advanced Excel required
  • Experience with R, SQL or Python considered an asset
  • Ability to work with remote partners in an interprovincial context
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Bilingual in French and English required
