Responsibilities

• Becomes an Actuarial Data Scientist who influences the usage of cutting edge advanced machine learning technology in the insurance industry and has a visible effect on the product roadmap.
• Interact with Product, Sales and R&D to assist the sales team in finding the best use cases for Akur8’s software to provide the highest value to each client’s business practices.
• Work with the Product team to recommend new features for clients and collaborate with R&D to explore new applications of machine learning in insurance.
• Lead product demonstrations to various audiences and oversee Akur8 proof of concept projects in an actuarial consultant role, ranging from loss modeling to creative modeling solutions.
• Communicate with client contacts (Heads of Pricing, Heads of Product, CTOs, Actuaries, Data Scientists) and conduct technical sessions for modeling best practices, training, and actuarial support.
• Contribute to the design of product training and the improvement of model development.
• Contribute to white papers and participate in/present at conferences to establish Akur8’s leadership in the UK and EMEA markets.
• Be attached to the Paris office with occasional travel for business events (approximately one week per month).

Qualifications

• 3-10 years of experience in a P&C / General / Health insurance pricing role (as Pricing Actuary, Actuarial Consultant or Data Scientist).
• Fully qualified actuarial credentials are preferred (but not obligatory).
• A strong understanding of Data Science and Machine Learning techniques for predictive modeling.
• Experience in actuarial data-driven predictive modeling (GLMs / GAMs) and risk analysis in a P&C / General insurance pricing role.
• Ability to understand insurance business imperatives and establish solutions accordingly.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Readiness to travel when required (approximately one week per month).
• Fluent English
• IMPORTANT : You must be French, a permanent resident, or possess a relevant visa (or Passeport Talent) which allows you to work in an unrestricted manner from our Paris office.
