The position supports a vibrant Rotary Manor Complex with a variety of daily activities, groups, and community partnerships, contributing to residents' well-being and social engagement.

In accordance with the vision and values of the organization and under the general supervision of a senior position such as a Recreation Therapist, Program Coordinator, Registered Nurse or Occupational Therapist, the Activity Worker is a member of the multidisciplinary team within a client and family centered model of care and is responsible for carrying out an established activity/recreation/leisure program as directed.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work:

Tuesday to Friday, Days, 08:47 to 16:30

The Rotary Manor Complex

consists of two buildings; the main area and the three-story tower are joined by a glassed walkway. All areas are bright with lots of natural sunlight and pleasant décor. 115 publicly subsidized beds, two private rooms for respite care two private rooms for community palliative needs. We have an active recreation department with various activities planned during the day, as well as groups who come in, both in the daytime and during the evening, for example school children for the Grand Buddy program, singers and musicians, church groups etc. The Adult Day Away Program integrates some of their activities with the facility recreation program.

Dawson Creek

Wide blue skies and the rolling foothills of the Northern Rockies surround Dawson Creek. The city is also known as the Mile Zero City, as it marks the start of the Alaska Highway, a 2,400 km long highway connecting Alaska and the Yukon to Western Canada and the United States. Dawson Creek has a population of approximately 12,500. It provides primary service to a population of approximately 20,000 and helps serve the larger population of the Peace River Region of 60,000. There are eleven elementary schools, one middle school and one secondary school. The Northern Lights College provides adult education.
