Job summary

American Iron & Metal (AIM) is seeking an Analyst, Accounts Payable to join the Finance Shared Services Center in Montréal, Canada. You will review and post vendor invoices and ensure timely payments to AIM’s vendors.

Your role requires at least 2 years in a similar function, basic accounting knowledge, and post-secondary education in accounting or business. You will work with accounting software and collaborate with various AIM departments to resolve discrepancies.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a similar accounts payable role.
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Post-secondary education in accounting or business-related field.
• Good grasp of computer systems and accounting software.
• Able to adapt quickly and be proactive when facing challenges.
• Experience managing a large volume of transactions.
• Strong organizational skills, rigor and autonomy.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and post vendor invoices for posting in AIM’s accounting systems.
• Validate charges against purchase orders and receipts or approvals.
• Identify and resolve invoicing discrepancies.
• Follow up with vendors or AIM departments for discrepancies.
• Reconcile vendor statements with subledger.
• Monitor payment schedules to ensure timely payments.
• Provide quality service to external and internal clients.
