American Iron & Metal Company (AIM) in Montreal seeks an experienced Accounting Manager to partner with operations and finance. You will oversee day-to-day accounting, inventory valuation, and the accounting team while ensuring accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls.

The role requires 5+ years in accounting, IFRS/NCECF knowledge, and ERP experience (Dynamics 365, Maximo, Dayforce). Aiming to optimize processes, you’ll support strategic decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (CPA/CMA asset).
• 5+ years progressive accounting experience, with supervision.
• Knowledge of IFRS and/or NCECF and internal controls.
• Experience with month-end close and financial reporting cycles.
• Manufacturing industry experience is a plus.
• Proficient in Excel and ERP systems (Dynamics 365, Maximo, Dayforce).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with accuracy and timeliness under NCECF.
• Oversee reconciliations (bank, GL, petty cash, inventory) and document discrepancies.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports and KPIs to spot trends and risks.
• Provide financial analysis and variance explanations to leadership and ops teams.
• Coach and develop the accounting team to meet performance goals.
• Ensure internal controls, policies, and governance requirements are followed.
• Coordinate external audits and serve as primary finance contact.
• Identify process improvements and automation to strengthen controls.
