Job summary

Cam Clark Auto Group in Red Deer, AB is seeking an Accounting Technician to join our finance team. You will assist with processing automotive deals, posting journal entries, preparing reports, and supporting month-end activities in a friendly, growth-oriented environment.

Ideal candidates are recent graduates with an Accounting or Business Administration diploma, possess strong attention to detail, and demonstrate solid computer skills including Word and Excel.

• Recent graduate with an Accounting or Business Administration diploma.
• Committed to working efficiently with high attention to detail.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and a general competency with computers.
• Professional manner and strong ethical code.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Great understanding of accounting principles and full cycle accounting.

Responsibilities

• Process automotive deals, journal entries and prepare reports.
• Review and maintain general ledger accounts and perform account reconciliations.
• Handle monthly remittances and assist with month-end prep.
• Cross-training to support the accounting team during absences.

The role of the accounting technician is to work closely with fellow accounting staff and other internal departments with a variety of duties including but not limited to processing automotive deals, journal entries & preparing reports, reviewing and maintaining general ledger accounts, account reconciliations, monthly remittances, month end prep. The accounting technician will also receive cross training to better support the accounting team during absences.
