Job summary

Fed Finance is seeking an Accounting Technician for our client in the manufacturing sector, based in Boucherville. The role involves daily accounting operations, monthly closings, and preparation of financial statements within a manufacturing context.

You will handle bank reconciliations, GL reconciliations, GST/QST remittances, and asset tracking, while supporting cost monitoring and internal controls. Fluency in French and strong Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

• DEC/AEC in accounting, business administration, or equivalent education.
• Experience in an accounting firm and/or manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Proficiency with an ERP system and very strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Reports to the Finance Department in a manufacturing environment.
• Participation in daily accounting operations and monthly closings.
• Preparation of financial statements and financial reports.
• Accounting entries and adjusting entries.
• Bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations.
• Analysis of variances and monitoring of balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• GST/QST returns and government remittances.
• Tracking of fixed assets and depreciation.
• Assistance with monitoring manufacturing costs and cost of goods sold.
• Inventory reconciliation and analysis.
• Participation in physical inventory counts.
• Preparation of external audit files and supporting documentation.
• Participation in improving internal controls and accounting processes.
• Collaboration with operational teams: purchasing, production, procurement, and shipping.
• Participation in optimizing ERP tools and systems.
