The Role:
As our ideal candidate, you will support a range of municipal accounting functions within a collaborative, multi-departmental environment. Your responsibilities will include preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, processing purchase orders and invoices, updating budget information, and assisting with financial reporting. With a strong focus on accuracy, service, and policy compliance, you will play an essential role in maintaining the integrity of the City’s financial operations and supporting day-to-day departmental needs.
Your Primary Responsibilities Will Be Focused On:
·Preparing, analyzing, and updating financial reports and department budgets
·Creating journal entries to reconcile and balance accounts on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
·Recording and balancing interdepartmental billings and transactions
·Creating and receiving purchase orders and processing vendor invoices
·Issuing invoices to external vendors and reconciling incoming credit card payments
·Processing honorarium payments and conducting monthly procurement card reviews
·Reviewing expense claims and ensuring compliance with financial policies
·Providing day-to-day financial support to departments and assisting with queries
·Supporting other accounting tasks as required to ensure smooth operations
o Experience with JD Edwards, Transform, Concur, and/or related systems is preferred
WAGE:$38.31 per hour
HOURS OF WORK:75 hours bi-weekly, Monday to Friday
